-Wrote daily blogs, event briefs and feature stories, publishing these items through a content management system
-Assisted managing and executive producers in writing headlines and subheads and copyediting blogs, event briefs and featured articles
-Decided on a daily basis how to program the app’s “front cover,” which featured the top five stories for the day
-Collaborated with other producers on interactive packages

-Functioned as a general assignment reporter, covering breaking news about public safety, government and schools
-Shot, produced and edited video and photo slideshow pieces for the website
-Managed and assigned stories to a team of freelancers and community contributors, which included teens, seniors, local bloggers and non-profit representatives
-Edited text and video pieces submitted by freelancers and contributors
-Wrote headlines using social engine optimization techniques, selected and edited appropriate images for articles and determined coverage on a daily basis
-Managed the site’s social media accounts and created strategies to increase online engagement and readership using social media tools

Health Reporter Intern, The Seattle Times [August 2009 –November 2009]
-Wrote stories about national health issues, such as the town hall meetings held by members of Congress
-Reported and researched stories about the proposed health care legislation and how it would impact locals including a small business owner and primary care doctors
-Wrote and reported breaking news stories about the swine flu pandemic. This included providing updates about the vaccines, as well as writing a Q&A to let readers know how that flu season was different from previous ones
-Shot, produced and edited video pieces focusing on health issues

News21 – Worked with a team to conceptualize BARThood.news21.com. Produced interactive timelines, collected and shot photos, produced videos. Contributed blogs to the project and helped manage social media pages.

Mission Local – Co-created and co-produced weekly video series called Mission Eyes. Created numerous photo slideshows about life in San Francisco’s Mission Neighborhood. Contributed blogs to the website.

DigiTV and the World – Wrote, shot, produced and edited short online documentary video stories in San Francisco and Beijing for Washingtonpost.com. Part of a video crew that shot and produced a video about the Olympic Torch run through San Francisco in 2008
